February WHSHS Alumni Association meeting The W.H. Spencer Alumni Association will meet at 3:00 P.M. on Sunday, February 11, 2018 at the Burger King located at 2033 Wynnton Road. Please come and bring a future member.
Kelly Green and Gold Blazers measurements will be taken 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 24, 2018 at The Spencer House (745 Veterans Pkwy/31901). Starting price is $119 and up. Cash, money orders (payable to J Mar Greek Life), and credit cards are the only payments accepted. Please be prepared to pay half of the total when you get measured and the other half when you pick up your order.
There is a 7 day turn around on orders.
Alumni Association Membership WHSHS Alumni are all former students of WHSHS. WHSHS Alumni Association members are alumni and friends who have lifetime or current annual membership with the WHSHS Alumni Association. Please click on this link for an WHSHS alumni association membership application.

WHSHS Band Uniforms

The set of new uniforms for the WHSHS Band is $30,100. The WHSHS Band is responsible for raising $5000 to assist in purchasing their uniforms.
The WHSHS Band is having a cookie dough sale fundraiser. Please stop by the WHSHS attendance office or contact any member of the band to purchase a tub. This fundraiser ends on Friday, February 16, 2018.
2/17 OWLETTES Fish Fry
The Spencer OWLETTES Fish Fry is Saturday, February 17, 2018 11:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. at The Spencer House (745 Veterans Pkwy/31901).
Tickets are $10. Please contact a Spencer OWLETTE for tickets. Ms. Pauline I. Johnson also has tickets available.

Rep Your Class Challenge
Rep Your Class Challenge for the Class of 2018. The Class of 2018 is projected to be the last class at the Victory Drive location. Please consider sponsoring Senior class dues and or awarding a book scholarship on behalf of your class.
Senior Dues ($190 per senior) are due by December 2017. Payment plans are acceptable. Checks will be written out to WHSHS.
Book Scholarships will be presented in May of 2018. Scholarship payments are not submitted until students have shown proof of enrollment during 1st/2nd semester of school (August 2018). Funds are made payable directly to the college.
Sponsor a Cap/Gown payment ($50).
Sponsor SAT/ACT testing fee.

W. H. Spencer High School History
On November 29, 1930, the first local high school for colored students opened at 800 Tenth Avenue. The school was the result of a grant from the Rosenwald Foundation and was named in honor of William Henry Spencer, Supervisor of the Colored Schools in Muscogee County from 1912-1925.
The first principal was Professor F. R. Lampkin, who also served as Supervisor of Colored Schools in Muscogee County from 1930-1945. The teaching staff consisted of 15 members. T. Hicks Fort was President of the Board of Education
